In support of breast cancer awareness, PLNU Volleyball is hosting its annual Dig Pink Night on Thursday, when the Sea Lions host Holy Names at 6 p.m. inside Golden Gym.
Â
"Volleyball as a sport has kind of adopted breast cancer awareness," Head Coach
Jonathan Scott. "In the month of October, nationwide, pretty much every single college and high school are going to have a Dig Pink awareness game."
Â
Point Loma wore its pink uniforms on Saturday at Hawaii Hilo and will be wearing them again on Thursday for the first time this season on its home floor.
Â
In conjunction with The Side-Out Foundation, PLNU Volleyball is hoping to raise both awareness and money for metastatic breast cancer research.
Â
Fans are encouraged to wear pink clothing to the game, where there will be pink Dunkin' donuts, cotton candy, drinks and Crumbl Cookies served.
Â
"It's pretty cool that volleyball has adopted it," Scott said. "It's certainly closer to some than others, but that's always been one of the better match environments when we host our Dig Pink game."
