(SAN MARCOS, Calif.) PLNU Women's Basketball continued its tough non-conference schedule on Tuesday night at No. 12 Cal State San Marcos.

The Sea Lions battled tough in the second half to keep pace with the Cougars, but couldn't overcome a 23-point halftime deficit, as CSUSM prevailed over PLNU by a score of 77-51.

San Marcos held Point Loma to just five field goals made in the first half, as the Cougars rushed out to an 11-2 advantage before developing a 40-17 halftime lead.

PLNU then doubled its first-half point total in the second half, shooting 46.1% combined in the third and fourth quarters.

Ten different Sea Lions scored points, including
Haylee Saurette's third-straight double-digit scoring game (10 points, seven rebounds) in the new season.
Annika Thayer added seven points and seven rebounds, while
Ellie Turk also pitched in with seven points.

After three-straight games away from home to start the season, Point Loma (0-3 overall) returns to Golden Gymnasium on Saturday at 2 p.m. to take on Cal State Dominguez Hills.
