(BELLINGHAM, Wash.) PLNU Women's Soccer's hopes at a first-ever NCAA West Regional title will once again run through Western Washington.
For the third-straight postseason, the Sea Lions will travel to Bellingham, Washington as they look to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
Point Loma (12-2-4 overall, 7-1-2 PacWest) received the third seed in the NCAA West Regional and will face off with sixth-seeded Sonoma State (12-4-3 overall, 7-2-2 CCAA) in the First Round on Thursday at 12 p.m.
The winner of that First Round matchup will then advance to face off with second-seeded and regional host Western Washington (14-2-4 overall, 11-1-2 GNAC) in Saturday's Second Round at 3 p.m.
The Sea Lions tied both SSU and WWU earlier this season by identical 1-1 scorelines, with both games being played at PLNU Soccer Field.
Point Loma closed the season with three-straight shutout wins, finishing second in the PacWest behind the region's No. 1 seed Hawaii Hilo.
Sonoma State won their third-straight CCAA regular season championship before falling in the CCAA Tournament championship to Cal State LA, who received the fourth seed in the West Region bracket.
Western Washington won both the GNAC regular season and conference tournament titles.
If PLNU gets past SSU in Thursday's first round, the Sea Lions will look to get revenge on the Vikings who have eliminated Point Loma in each of the past two postseasons.
