SURPRISE, Ariz.- A string of tight matches and a pair of tiebreakers swung against the Point Loma Sea Lions in a 4-2 loss to the Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Saturday at the PacWest Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Club.
Point Loma finishes the PacWest tournament in 4
th place.
All three doubles matches were neck-and-neck, but Hilo scratched out a pair of 6-4 wins with Court No. 1 tied at 6.
Down 1-0,
Alejandro Castaneda evened up the match with a tidy 6-3, 6-2 win on Court No. 5.
But two minutes later, the Vulcans regained the lead with a win on Court No. 4 to go up 2-1.
Tyler Davis went to the tiebreaker in set one but ultimately fell in straight sets.
Down 3-1, Point Loma dropped the clinching point on Court No. 2.

Jasdeep Paintal finished his straight-set victory, 6-4, 7-5, closing the conference tournament on a positive note.
Despite the 4-2 loss, Point Loma finishes the tournament in 4
th place in the conference and finishes the season 11-12 on the season.
