SAN DIEGO- After a season ranked among the best shooting teams in the country, the Point Loma Sea Lions have signed Grad Transfer Tobin Karlberg, a clutch-shooting guard who played the last three seasons at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Â
"We are thrilled to add Tobin Karlberg to our PLNU Basketball family this spring." Point Loma Head Coach
Matt Logie said. "As a 2nd Team All-GNAC performer this past season, Tobin is a proven player who is excited for this next chapter in his journey. Beyond the production and experience on the court that Tobin brings to our backcourt, Tobin is also a tremendous mission fit for our university and will add greatly to the culture of our program."Â
Â
Karlberg was the leading scorer for the Seawolves in 2021-2022, averaging 18.3 points per game while playing and starting in all 24 games. He has scored 964 points in his career with a prolific ability to knock down the three. As a sophomore he shot over 50% from beyond the arc, making 83 of his 163 attempts.
Â
"On the court, Tobin is an efficient and versatile backcourt player who has scored at a high rate while shooting the basketball at an extremely efficient rate," Logie added. "He also takes very good care of the basketball and will fit in extremely well with the talented core of players we will have next season."

Point Loma is the defending PacWest Champion, finishing the 2021-2022 campaign with a 21-10 record that includes a 16-4 mark in the PacWest.
