KAILUA, HI-After breaking through to the NCAA Regional, the Point Loma Sea Lions (19-8 overall) finished the season with a 4-2 loss to the top-seeded Hawai'i Pacific Sharks (16-8 overall) Friday afternoon at the Kailua Racquet Club.

Samantha Neilson went out in style with a dominating singles win and teammate
Faith Pearson picked up wins on the doubles court and singles court as Point Loma pushed the #1 seed in the West Region.

Rachel Whittington scored on Court No. 3 with their 6-2 victory.
After dropping the match on Court No. 2, it was up to PLNU's pair on Court No. 1 to pull off a comeback.
Arianna Audelo and
Amanda Letzring were down 5-3 but forced the extra game prior to falling 7-5 as HPU grabbed the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead.
That proved key, despite HPU taking the first singles point with a quick win on Court No. 3, Point Loma proved more than formidable for the West's top seed.
Pearson scored an equally quick victory on Court No. 6, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
Neilson was not far behind her, but in the meantime HPU grabbed their third point to jump up 3-1.
Neilson concluded her match in straight sets 6-0, 6-3 for her 14
th singles win this season.
HPU clinched the match on Court No. 1 to advance to the NCAA National Tournament next week.
PLNU concludes its best season in the NCAA era with 19 wins coming just one shy of the program record.
