(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Tennis picked it up its second-straight exhibition win over an NCAA Division I opponent, this time against San Francisco on Thursday by a score of 4-2.

"I am very pleased with how well the men competed against a strong team in USF," Head Coach Curt Wheeler said. "Today was a team win through and through. The entire team staying focused and confident in the big moments made the difference today."

Fabian Penzkofer won a second-set tiebreak to give Point Loma a 3-2 overall advantage, after winning 6-4, 7-6 at number three singles, while
Tyler Davis (No. 2) and
Andrew Suver (No. 4) remained on the court with the team match still in the balance.

Davis then managed to overcome a second-set loss and a 2-4 deficit in the third set to clinch the team victory for the Sea Lions, storming back to win his singles matchup 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.

Suver led 7-5, 6-7, 3-2 at the time Davis' match finished, while
David Strassburger claimed the first of the team's three singles points with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at number five.

Prior to singles, Point Loma earned the doubles point by winning the two doubles matches that were completed.

Alexander Leischner and Davis dominated at number one, 6-1, while
Alejandro Castaneda and Strassburger won by the same comprehensive scoreline at number three.

Point Loma now awaits its regular season opener on Feb. 4 when the Sea Lions host Westmont at 1 p.m.
