SEA LIONS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO FOUR

(OAKLAND, Calif.) Four Sea Lions scored in double figures as PLNU Women's Basketball extended its winning streak to a season-high four games with a 75-66 road win over Holy Names on Monday night.

With the game tied at the half, 32-32, Point Loma won the third quarter by a 25-12 margin to gain control of the contest.

Shayla O'Neil's 3-point play gave the Sea Lions a 17-point lead, their largest of the game, late in the third.

PLNU then led by 16 after Haylee Saurette's layup with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter, before HNU went on a 9-0 run to reduce its deficit to just seven with 38 seconds remaining.

But the Sea Lions made a couple free throws with a Madison Corder steal sandwiched in-between to seal the victory.

Saurette recorded her eighth double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and adding 10 rebounds. Ellie Turk (13 points), Allie Carreon (11 points, five rebounds) and Corder (10 points) joined her in double figures.

PLNU controlled the low post, holding a 54-30 advantage in points in the paint and 41-29 in rebounds. PLNU's 13-to-6 margin in offensive rebounds resulted in the Sea Lions outscoring the Hawks 14-4 in second chance points.

Point Loma (12-12 overall, 10-6 PacWest) now returns home to Golden Gym for its final four games of the regular season, beginning on Feb. 8 against Biola at 5:30 p.m.
