(HONOLULU) Four goals in the second half, including a pair from
Marlon Buck, lifted PLNU Men's Soccer to a 4-1 win over Chaminade to kick off Point Loma's Hawaii trip.
After a scoreless first half, Buck broke the deadlock in the 58th minute.
Elijah Langford slid a ball through to Buck, who made a vertical run from the midfield beyond the opposing backline to then slot past the keeper.
Two Chaminade own goals then increased Point Loma's lead further in the 63rd and 68th minutes. On both occasions,
Christopher Burgos Lara found space on the right byline to whip in crosses that were redirected into the net by a Silverswords defender.
Buck then rounded out the Sea Lions' scoring in the 87th with a similar goal to his first.
Juan Salazar skipped past a couple of defenders before slipping Buck through centrally at goal for a composed finish.
CUH added one late on but PLNU still came away with a comfortable victory, its third in four PacWest matches so far this season.
In total, the Sea Lions outshot the Silverswords 16-4, including 9-3 in shots on goal.
Point Loma (7-4 overall, 3-1 PacWest) next takes on Hawaii Pacific on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. PT / 4:30 p.m. HT.
