(LA MIRADA, Calif.) Sensational goals from
Nicki Friedman and
Alana Diaz lifted PLNU Women's Soccer to a 2-0 road victory over Biola on Saturday night in PacWest play.
"The team played very well tonight and we scored some really good goals," Head Coach
Kristi Kiely said. "I'm proud of how we played."
Friedman got the visitors on the board in just the 13th minute with a brilliant left-footed strike from the top of the box.
Off a throw-in from the right wing,
Bethany Arabe flicked the ball over her defender before heading it to Friedman, who sidestepped a Biola player before blasting her shot into the back of the net.
Diaz then doubled Point Loma's lead in the 59th minute with a low-driven, right-footed volley.
Zoe Crockett won a header and flicked it toward Diaz, who beat an outstretched goalkeeper from just inside the 18.
Those two goals were more than enough for the Sea Lions, who kept their third-straight shutout.
PLNU outshot BU 12-7 overall and 5-0 in shots on goal.
Point Loma (6-2-1 overall, 2-1 PacWest) next travels to Hawaii for three games, beginning on Oct. 16 at Chaminade.
