(VECHTA, Germany) One of the most decorated athletes in Point Loma history is now plying his trade professionally overseas.

PLNU Men's Basketball legend
Kaden Anderson has signed with Rasta Vechta in Germany to continue his playing career at the next level.
Â
"Kaden's impact on the program is hard to put into words," Head Coach
Justin Downer said. "Beyond the level of player he was, the loyalty he showed to this program, university and community will always be remembered and appreciated."
Â
In 2022-23, he averaged 22.7 points per game, ranking ninth in NCAA Division II in ppg and fifth in points, while also pulling down 8.9 rebounds per game.
Â
The three-time All-American became just the second player ever to earn three-straight PacWest Player of the Year awards in men's basketball, before adding PacWest Tournament Most Outstanding Player and PacWest Male Athlete of the Year recognition as well.
Â
The D2CCA West Region Player of the Year was also a finalist for two national honors in 2022-23 – NABC DII Player of the Year and the Small College Basketball Bevo Francis Award.
Â
"
Kaden Anderson's name will ring through Golden Gym for many years to come for how he made people feel, not just the points he scored," Downer said. "Kaden made you feel something as a teammate, coach and fan."
Â
Anderson became the all-time leading scorer in PacWest history this past season, finishing his storied Sea Lions career with 2,047 points, which ranks third all-time in Point Loma history.
Â
He also ranks fourth in program history in blocks (119), sixth in 3-point % (.418), eighth in rebounds (882) and 10th in 3-pointers made (168).
Â
During his time on The Point, Anderson won three PacWest regular season titles and three PacWest Tournaments. The Sea Lions qualified for the NCAA West Regional in all five years, including a national championship appearance in 2018-19 and a Sweet 16 berth this past season.
Â
"We wish him well on his journey as a professional basketball player and will be here to support him every step of the way," Downer said.
Â
Anderson's Rasta Vechta will compete in the same league as his former Sea Lion teammate Brock Mackenzie, who signed with Phoenix Hagen earlier this summer.
