(POMONA, Calif.) The best regular season in program history for PLNU Volleyball has resulted in its best ever seeding in the NCAA West Regional.
The Sea Lions are back in the postseason for the second straight year and third time ever, earning the No. 4 seed in the regional.
PLNU will square off with No. 5 seed Central Washington in the First Round on Dec. 5 in Pomona, Calif.
Point Loma (25-1 overall) earned an at-large bid into this year's regional and is making back-to-back NCAA postseason appearances for the first time in program history, as the Sea Lions look for their first postseason victory since joining the NCAA.
Central Washington (18-6) won its first GNAC title since 2005 but is making its 12th consecutive regional appearance in a full season.
The winner between PLNU and CWU will then advance to the regional semifinals on Dec. 6 and play the winner between No. 1 seed Cal Poly Pomona and No. 8 seed Simon Fraser.
The West Regional championship is set for Dec. 8, with the regional champion advancing as one of eight teams who will compete at the NCAA Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from Dec. 12-14.
