Point Loma outscored CUI in the second half but was unable to overcome a 26-30 halftime deficit.

The Golden Eagles extended their lead to double digits in the first half, a deficit the Sea Lions managed to come back from on Wednesday in a home win against Biola but were unable to repeat the feat on Saturday.

Zackry Paulsen cut CUI's lead down to four with a 3-pointer before halftime, before PLNU got as close as to within three in the second half, including twice in the final minute following a
Tyce Paulsen triple and a
Wynton Brown dunk.

The Sea Lions got the ball back one final time in the closing seconds after the hosts missed the front end of a one-and-one at the free throw line, but were unable to connect on a last-second 3-pointer that would have sent the game to overtime.

Zackry Paulsen scored a game-high 23 points, while Brown added 16.
