(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Basketball extended its winning streak to a season-high five games on Saturday, defeating Academy of Art 70-54 inside Golden Gym.
 
Tavia Rowell scored 22 points, her most in a Point Loma uniform, while 
Hannah Golan set a new career-high with 16 points.
 
Maddie Mersch added a personal-best 12 rebounds, as the Sea Lions outrebounded the Urban Knights 43-23.
 
After ART U held an early 6-5 lead at the 6:39 mark in the first quarter, Point Loma scored 12 of the final 15 points in the period to lead 17-9 after one.
 
The visitors started the second quarter on a 9-0 run to tie the game before 
Hannah Golan beat the first-half buzzer with a nifty move around the basket to give the Sea Lions a 29-23 lead at the half.
 
  
Tavia Rowell then extended PLNU's lead to double digits in the third quarter, as the Sea Lions led by as many as 29 after Golan's layup capped an 11-0 run to start the fourth.
 
  
Point Loma (13-9 overall, 9-5 PacWest) now turns its attention to a matchup with first-placed Azusa Pacific on Saturday. Tip-off in Golden Gym is scheduled for 3 p.m.
