(SURPRISE, Ariz.) PLNU Men's Tennis claimed a fifth-place finish at the PacWest Championships by virtue of its 4-0 victory over Fresno Pacific on Saturday morning.

Point Loma won the doubles point after taking both matches that were finished.

Nabeel Khan and
Elias Weeks immediately earned back-to-back breaks of serve on their way to a 6-1 victory. Then at No. 1,
Alexander Leischner and
David Strassburger put the Sea Lions up 1-0 with their 6-3 win.

Singles victories from
Lukas Schuster (6-1, 6-2) at No. 6 and Leischner (6-2, 6-3) at No. 1 put the Sunbirds on the brink.

Matt Melosch then clinched fifth place in the tournament for the Sea Lions, breaking his opponent's serve to close out his 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Point Loma (13-8 overall) will now hope to be one of the top-four teams in the NCAA West Regional rankings and receive an at-large berth into the regional for a second-straight season.
