(SURPRISE, Ariz.) PLNU Men's Tennis claimed a fifth-place finish at the PacWest Championships by virtue of its 4-0 victory over Fresno Pacific on Saturday morning.
 
Point Loma won the doubles point after taking both matches that were finished.
 
At No. 2, Nabeel Khan and Elias Weeks immediately earned back-to-back breaks of serve on their way to a 6-1 victory. Then at No. 1, Alexander Leischner and David Strassburger put the Sea Lions up 1-0 with their 6-3 win.
 
Singles victories from Lukas Schuster (6-1, 6-2) at No. 6 and Leischner (6-2, 6-3) at No. 1 put the Sunbirds on the brink.
 
Matt Melosch then clinched fifth place in the tournament for the Sea Lions, breaking his opponent's serve to close out his 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Point Loma (13-8 overall) will now hope to be one of the top-four teams in the NCAA West Regional rankings and receive an at-large berth into the regional for a second-straight season.
