(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Soccer hosted the first annual Carter Redd Rhoad Alumni Game on Saturday in honor of the late former Sea Lion.
In addition to the annual alumni game in his name, Men's Soccer has created the Carter Redd Rhoad Memorial Fund to preserve his legacy in both the program and the greater Point Loma Nazarene University community.
"Carter's impact on those who knew him is immeasurable," Head Coach
Phil Wolf said. "In addition to the hundreds who were influenced by his life, he was a real blessing to the soccer program at Point Loma."
The memorial scholarship fund will benefit the men's soccer program with items such as training gear, game uniforms, facility improvements, and travel, among others.
"Carter wore our jersey with pride, served as one of our captains, and came back to join us as an assistant coach," Wolf said. "He believed deeply in what we are doing at Point Loma and was a constant support along the way.
"This fund will bless all current and future players of the men's program and serve as a reminder of a man who lived a truly extraordinary life."
