(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Volleyball cruised to a season-opening sweep (25-14, 25-19, 25-13) of Chadron State on Thursday night inside Golden Gym to start off the San Diego Invite.
 
Point Loma held its opponents to a .000 hitting %, while hitting at a highly-efficient rate of .319.
 
Leading 2-0 overall in the match, PLNU ensured that a fourth set wouldn't be needed by scoring the final six points of the third set, three of which came from Abigail Nua kills.

All-Americans Nua and Anna Massari led the offense with 16 and 11 kills respectively, while Massari held the 3-to-2 edge over Nua in service aces.
 
Avery Allemann made her presence felt at the net in her Sea Lions debut, recording seven blocks, as did Makenna Joyce with a match-high 13 digs.
 
Sophia Baugh dished out a match-high 37 assists.
 
Point Loma (1-0 overall) has now swept its opening regular season match in each of the past three years.
 
The Sea Lions return to the court on Friday on the campus of tournament co-host Cal State Marcos. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
