PLNU Volleyball will host the NCAA West Regional for the first time in program history.

PLNU VOLLEYBALL TO HOST NCAA WEST REGIONAL AS NO. 1 SEED

(SAN DIEGO) For the first time in program history, PLNU Volleyball will host the NCAA West Regional.
 
Point Loma was awarded the No. 1 seed in the regional, as announced during Monday evening's Selection Show, and will host the eight-team tournament in Golden Gym Dec. 4-6.
 
PLNU will take on No. 8 seed Cal State San Bernardino in the first round on Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
 
The Sea Lions are making their third-straight regional appearance and fourth all-time, with their previous highest seed being No. 4 in 2024.
 
PLNU won an NCAA postseason match for the first time last year, defeating Central Washington in the first round.
   
Point Loma (24-4 overall) won the PacWest regular season championship this season with an 11-1 record before reaching the conference tournament title match, losing in an epic five-set match to Fresno Pacific.

Cal State San Bernardino (22-5 overall, 15-3 CCAA) won the CCAA Tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid into the regional. The Yotes, who finished second in the CCAA regular season standings, enter the NCAA postseason on a nine-match winning streak.
 
CSUSB played at PLNU back on Sep. 6, defeating the Sea Lions in five sets (23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 15-13).
   
The winner on Dec. 4 will advance to the regional semifinals on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. against either No. 4 seed Alaska Anchorage or No. 5 seed Alaska Fairbanks.
 
The other side of the West Region bracket features No. 2 seed Simon Fraser, No. 3 seed Fresno Pacific, No. 6 seed Western Washington and No. 7 seed Central Washington.
 
The regional championship match will be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
