(IRVINE, Calif.) Concordia defeated PLNU Men's Tennis on Tuesday afternoon in Irvine by a score of 6-1.
 
The matchup was much closer than that, with four singles matches requiring a third set and another needing a second-set tiebreak.
 
David Fisinger recorded Point Loma's only point on the day, overcoming a 3-6 defeat in set one to win the final two sets 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4.
 
Andrew Suver (No. 2) and Niclas Goltz (No. 3) both won the first set in their eventual three-set defeats.
 
Alexander Leischner (No. 1) barely lost the first set, 5-7, before winning the second by the same score, only to fall in set three.
 
Finn Kirschner (No. 5) lost in singles for the first time this season, having his 11-match singles winning streak end in a second-set tiebreak.
 
Nabeel Khan was very competitive in his 4-6, 5-7 defeat at No. 6.
 
Point Loma (8-4 overall) returns to competition on Saturday to play at Biola in La Mirada at 3 p.m.
