(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Tennis made on a statement on Monday evening with a 4-3 win over previously unbeaten Hawai'i Pacific, ranked No. 18 in the ITA Coaches Poll.
 
Point Loma claimed the doubles point, which proved to be the difference in the match.
 
Alexander Leischner and Elias Weeks immediately broke their opponents' serve on their way a dominant 6-0 victory at No. 1.
 
Andrew Suver and David Fisinger, leading 4-3 at No. 2, earned a crucial break of serve gave before Fisinger's strong serving clinched the doubles point for the Sea Lions.
 
Leischner (6-1, 6-2) and Finn Kirschner (6-1, 6-0) cruised at No. 1 and No. 6 to put the Sharks on the brink.
 
Fisinger then also won in straight sets; 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5; to officially clinch PLNU's team victory with a 4-0 lead.

HPU won the final three singles matches to finish, two of which were decided in a super tiebreak with the result of the match already confirmed, making the overall score look closer.
 
Point Loma (5-2 overall), winners of two straight, next plays against Augustana on March 12 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.
