(CARSON, Calif.) PLNU Women's Basketball earned the No. 3 seed in the NCAA West Regional, set to take place March 14-17 in Carson, as announced on Sunday night.

Point Loma is making its second straight regional appearance, marking the first time in program history the Sea Lions have qualified for the regional in back-to-back seasons.

PLNU's No. 3 seed is also its highest in program history, as the team was seeded no higher than seventh in its previous three appearances.

In the first round on Friday at noon, Point Loma (25-5 overall, 18-2 PacWest) will take on sixth-seeded Central Washington (21-7, 14-4 GNAC), who finished third in the GNAC regular season standings.
The Sea Lions won their first ever PacWest regular season and PacWest Tournament titles this year, while setting an NCAA-era program record for wins.

PLNU and CWU last played each other on Nov. 15, 2013.

The winner will advance to Saturday's regional semifinal at 5 p.m. against either second-seeded Cal Poly Pomona or seventh-seeded Chico State.

The other side of the regional bracket features tournament host and No. 1 seed Cal State Dominguez Hills, No. 4 seed Alaska Anchorage, No. 5 seed Montana State Billings and No. 8 seed Azusa Pacific.
The regional championship game is scheduled for Monday, March 17 at 7 p.m.
