Playing in the conference semifinals for the third straight year, No. 2 seed Point Loma defeated No. 6 seed Hawai'i Pacific 4-1 on Friday to book its spot in Saturday's PacWest title match.

The Sea Lions will take on No. 5 seed Biola, who upset No. 1 seed Azusa Pacific, 4-2. The Eagles will also be playing in the PacWest Championship for the first time.

Against HPU, PLNU won the doubles point with victories on Courts No. 3 and No. 1.

Emely Valencia and
Anna Pallencaoe won the first doubles match to finish, claiming the final six games at No. 3 to win 6-1.

Then at No. 1,
Arianna Audelo and
Quin Brady trailed 0-2 but battled back to take a 5-3 advantage. After HPU tied the set at 5-5, PLNU's No. 1 duo won eight of the final 10 points, as Audelo's serve was returned into the net to give Point Loma a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Sharks then won the first singles match to finish, only for the Sea Lions to win the next three singles matches.

Antonia Barth cruised at No. 3, winning 6-3, 6-0 to restore PLNU's advantage in the match.

Valencia trailed 0-4 in a second-set tiebreak before storming back to win seven of the final eight points to put the finishing touches on her 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) victory at No. 5.

Pallencaoe then officially booked Point Loma's spot in the conference championship with her 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 win at No. 6.

Leading 1-0 in the third set, Pallencaoe earned an early break of serve to take a 2-0 advantage. She broke her opponent's serve once again with a backhand volley winner to go up 5-1, before holding serve to close out the match.

Brady was on the verge of winning at No. 4 singles as well, overcoming a first-set tiebreak defeat to win 11 of the next 12 games before her match was left unfinished once Pallencaoe earned the clinching fourth point for the Sea Lions.

Point Loma (17-4 overall) and Biola will play in the conference championship on Saturday at 9 a.m. Both teams are seeking their first ever PacWest title.
