(SURPRISE, Ariz.) No. 3 PLNU Men's Tennis battled until the end against No. 2 seed Concordia in the PacWest semifinals on Friday, with the Golden Eagles ultimately prevailing 4-2.
 
Point Loma got off to a great start, winning the doubles point to take a 1-0 advantage in the match.
 
Andrew Suver and 
David Fisinger combined to win 6-3 at No. 2 before 
Alexander Leischner and 
Elias Weeks overcame a 3-4 deficit at No. 1 to claim a 7-5 victory and put the Sea Lions up in the match.
 
Leischner extended his perfect record in PacWest Championships singles matches to 10-0 with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory at No. 1.
 
CUI then took a 3-2 lead as a team with singles matches still being played on Courts No. 2 and 4.
 
Finn Kirschner was one game away from extending his No. 4 singles match to a third set, only for the Golden Eagles to clinch the team victory with a 7-5, 7-5 win.
 
  
Niclas Goltz won 6-4 in his first set at No. 2, and held a 4-2 advantage in the third set after back-to-back breaks of serve, before CUI won on Court No. 4.
 
Point Loma (12-6 overall) will play against fourth-seeded Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Third Place Match.
