(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Tennis won the doubles point against NCAA Division I UC San Diego on Wednesday in a 4-2 result that went in favor of the visiting Tritons.

Anna Pallencaoe and
Emely Valencia won at No. 3 doubles, 6-4, before
Alina Kupfer and
Antonia Barth clinched the doubles point with their 7-5 victory at No. 2.

PLNU's No. 2 duo broke UCSD's serve to go up 6-5, and then Kupfer held serve to put the Sea Lions up 1-0 in the match.

Barth then dominated at No. 2 singles, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. She raced out to a 3-0 lead in set two before winning three of the final four games.

Brady and
Melissa Zirkle both forced first set tiebreakers in narrow defeats at No. 3 and No. 5 respectively.

Pallencaoe was one game away from forcing a third set at No. 4, when her match was left unfinished after the Tritons clinched the team victory, helped by the visitors winning by default at No. 6.

Point Loma (14-4 overall) concludes the regular season on Saturday against Westmont on Senior Day. Doubles play is set to begin at 10 a.m.
