(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Women's Basketball swept the season series with Biola for the first time since 2018-19, as the Sea Lions defeated the Eagles on Tuesday night in Golden Gym, 76-64.
Izzy Navarro scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half to join the 1,000 Point Club for her collegiate career.
After Point Loma led by five going into the locker room, PLNU won both the third and fourth quarters, as Navarro officially eclipsed the 1,000 point mark with a 3-pointer in the final period.
PLNU's point guard then dished out one of her six assists to get PacWest Player of the Week
Eiley Tippins (10 points) into double figures and put the Sea Lions back up by double digits.
Another Navarro triple and floater helped the hosts go up by as many as 15 in the fourth quarter, during which PLNU shot 61.1% from the field.
Navarro, the PacWest leader in steals, also recorded five steals and six assists, while
Hannah Golan (six assists) posted her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Seven of Golan's rebounds were on the offensive glass, as the Sea Lions outscored the Eagles 24-9 in second chance points.
Ruby Vlahov (12 points) joined Navarro, Golan and Tippins in double figures as one of four Sea Lions to make multiple 3-pointers.
Point Loma (12-4 overall, 8-2 PacWest), on a four-game winning streak, returns to Golden Gym on Saturday to host Azusa Pacific at 2 p.m. The Cougars beat the Sea Lions on Dec. 20, 72-65.
