(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's and Women's Basketball are both ranked in the first official NCAA West Regional rankings, released on Wednesday.
The Point Loma men are No. 2 in the region, with the women ranked No. 6, as the top eight seeds on both sides will compete in their respective regionals (March 13-16).
The PLNU men (22-4 overall, 17-3 PacWest), ranked No. 17 nationally in the NABC Coaches Poll, have already clinched a fifth-straight PacWest championship and enter the final week of the regular season on an eight-game winning streak.
They have played in the NCAA West Regional in seven of the last eight seasons.
The PLNU women (19-7, 15-5) are in third place in the PacWest standings with two games remaining before the postseason and are looking to make a third-straight regional appearance.
Both teams host Hawai'i Pacific on Thursday in Golden Gym in a conference doubleheader, beginning with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.
The Sea Lions will then welcome Westmont to Golden Gym on Saturday at 2 and 4 p.m., with Senior Day festivities to take place before each game.
Point Loma is the host of next week's PacWest Championships (March 5-7) with both PLNU teams having already booked their spot in the conference tournament.
