(VISTA, Calif.) PLNU Women's Golf saved its best round for last at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational, finishing fifth out of 13 teams.
Point Loma remained in fifth place after every round, during which the Sea Lions improved their score in each successive round played at Shadowridge C.C.
Avery Sky closed out her tournament with her best round, shooting a two-over 74 to place 18th individually to lead the team.
Sky eagled the par-five 17th, as one of six players to card a birdie in the tournament, before later birdieing the par-five first and the par-four second. She shot two-under on par-five holes in the tournament, as did teammate
Annika Yturralde.
Allie Nguyen finished 22nd, while
Bella Gunasayan placed 26th after totaling an even-par score on par-threes.
Giana Gunasayan had the best round of any Sea Lion on Tuesday, shooting an even-par 72 to move up 16 spots into a tie for 34th with teammate
Summer Schafer.
Point Loma will compete next at the Richmond College Invitational, hosted by Dominican at Richmond G.C.
