(SAN DIEGO) PLNU Men's Tennis was just points away from becoming the first NCAA Division II team to defeat Biola this season, before the Eagles edged the Sea Lions by a 4-3 scoreline.

Point Loma won the doubles point with victories on Courts No. 2 and 1, as

David Fisinger cruised at No. 2, 6-1, before
Stanislas Noel and
Finn Kirschner closed out their match at No. 1, 6-4.

With PLNU's No. 1 pairing tied at 4-4, Kirschner's volley at the net put the Sea Lions up 5-4 before the duo broke the Eagles' serve to win 6-4.

BU then won the first two singles matches to finish, but Alogo-Piqueras leveled the match with his straight-set, 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 4, before Noel put the Sea Lions back in front with his 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1.

PLNU won the first set on four of the six singles courts, with Kirschner's and Fisinger's matches going to three sets at No. 2 and 3 respectively.

With the overall match score tied at 3-3, Kirschner battled back from down 1-3 in the third set of his match to go ahead 4-3 before Biola (12-1 overall) squeaked out a win.

Point Loma (3-7) returns to the PLNU Tennis Courts on Tuesday to host Missouri-St. Louis at 1 p.m.
