SEA LIONS SPLIT WITH GOLDEN EAGLES IN IRVINE

(IRVINE, Calif.) No. 4 PLNU Baseball scored 11 runs in the series finale against Concordia, earning a Saturday split in Irvine with an 11-1 victory.

Owen May led off the top of the second game of the day with a solo homer before Mason Cook's two-run double capped off a three-run first.

Point Loma scored five in the third with Tristan Moore plating two runners with a base hit, before adding one in the fourth and two more in the seventh, as the Sea Lions scored more runs in game four of the series than in the previous three combined.

Devin Norton earned the win on the mound with five innings of one-run ball, before Kyle Scritzky pitched two shutout innings out of the bullpen.

That followed up an impressive start from Glen Huggins in Saturday's first game, as Huggins got through 8.2 innings of work before leaving with two outs in the ninth and the bases loaded.

Back-to-back singles from the Golden Eagles then scored their only three runs of the game to win via a walk-off, 3-2.

Point Loma (28-7 overall, 24-4 PacWest) next travels to play four games at Hawai'i Hilo on Friday and Saturday.
