PLNU MAKES PROGRAM HISTORY WITH ANOTHER SWEEP

(ATHERTON, Calif.) No. 10 PLNU Baseball completed its fourth-straight sweep to begin PacWest play, winning both games of Monday's doubleheader to improve to 16-0 in conference.

With wins of 11-2 and 19-8, Point Loma has now swept four-consecutive series for the first time in the program's NCAA era, while its 16-game winning streak is its longest since also winning 16-straight in 2018.

PLNU also reached the 20-win mark in just 23 games, its second fewest games needed to pick up its 20th win in Point Loma's NCAA era – the 2022 squad started 20-2.

The Sea Lions' 19 runs and 20 hits in the series finale set a new season high in both categories.

Tristan Moore had six RBIs on the day to go along with a pair of doubles and a home run.

Jake Schwartz and Josiah Rodriguez both had four hits each in the final game of the series.

Matt Elliot was brilliant on the mound in the first game, pitching four innings of scoreless relief and striking out six batters to earn the win.

Point Loma (20-3 overall, 16-0 PacWest) stays on the road to play at Fresno Pacific in a four-game conference series beginning on Friday at 2 p.m.
