Annika Yturralde was named the PacWest Golfer of the Year, highlighting a record number of All-PacWest honorees for PLNU Women's Golf.
Yturralde was one of a program record four All-PacWest First Team selections for the Sea Lions, as PLNU had four of the five first teamers.
The second PacWest Golfer of the Year in program history was joined on the All-PacWest First Team by
Allie Nguyen,
Bella Gunasayan and
Summer Schafer.
Avery Sky was selected to the Third Team.
Point Loma's five overall All-PacWest selections tie its previous best mark set in 2021.
Yturralde posted PLNU's best ever finish at the NCAA West Regional (3rd) to become the second Sea Lion in program history to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Championships. She then finished 31st at the NCAA Finals, the best ever placement by a Sea Lion.
The junior transfer also placed seventh at the PacWest Championships, one of her three top-10 and six top-15 finishes on the season. She joins Alli Kim (2022-23) as the two Sea Lions to earn PacWest Player of the Year honors.
Nguyen won the individual title at the LA Spring Kickoff and was the highest Sea Lion on the leaderboard at the PacWest Championships, placing sixth. On the season, she had a 75.25 scoring average, posting three top-10 finishes and two more in the top-13.
Gunasayan posted a 75.13 scoring average to go along with five top-10 finishes and seven in the top-15. That included a T-10th finish at the PacWest Championships and T-13th at the NCAA West Regional.
Schafer had a 74.75 scoring average in her five tournaments played this spring, including a pair of top-five finishes. That included a runner-up placement at The Big Freeze.
Sky had one top-10 and six top-20 finishes on the season, averaging a score of 76.96. She finished 10th at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout and tied for 18th at the PacWest Championships.
Head Coach Lance Hancock was named PacWest Coach of the Year for the second time.
Point Loma won two tournaments this season (LA Spring Kickoff, The Big Freeze) before finishing second at the PacWest Championships. The Sea Lions then placed ninth at the NCAA West Regional, the best of any conference school.
