(COSTA MESA, Calif.) PLNU Men's Soccer scored four goals for the second straight game, defeating Vanguard on the road by a 4-2 margin.
 
"We had some really good moments of possession and some good attacking moments," Head Coach Phil Wolf said. "Moving forward we're going to have to be much more stable at the back but overall it was a good performance."
 
Evan Youngflesh tallied a brace, scoring a goal in both halves, including just 6:12 into the match.
 
Inaki Santamarina then made it 2-0 in the 24th minute, with Zack Mercieca assisting on both first half goals, as the Sea Lions took a 2-1 lead into the interval.
 
Ian Garcia answered back for the visitors early in the second half with his first career PLNU goal in the 56th minute before Youngflesh scored his second goal of the game in the 64th.

"Zack Mercieca had a couple assists on some really good attacking moments, really good game model goals," Wolf said. "Evan Youngflesh continues to be very dangerous, so I feel really good about our team going forward."
 
Vanguard got one back 10 minutes later, but it wasn't enough to overcome another offensive onslaught for the Sea Lions, who won by a 4-2 margin for the second consecutive match.
 
Point Loma (3-2-2 overall) returns home to host Westmont on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its final non-conference game before PacWest play begins next week.
 
"Similar to what we did against Monterey Bay, we gave up goals we wouldn't normally concede," Wolf said. "We're going to have to shore things up certainly by Saturday against Westmont. I'm looking forward to that game."
