(IRVINE, Calif.) PLNU Women's Soccer handed No. 14 Concordia its first loss of the season, as Point Loma closed out its non-conference schedule with an impressive 2-1 road win over CUI on Saturday night.

Kristi Kiely said. "Concordia isn't an easy place to go and isn't an easy opponent. Tonight we competed well, scored some good goals and grew in new ways. We are glad to finish the preseason with a few wins."
Point Loma took a deserved early lead when Torres scored just 4:40 into the match.
Maddy Saruwatari played a ball out wide right to
Madison Khan, who beat her defender down the line and had her shot saved straight into the path of Torres to finish first time.
After outshooting the Golden Eagles 5-3 in the first half, the Sea Lions led 1-0 going into the break before CUI equalized in the 63rd minute.
However, Torres struck again just three minutes later to put the visitors back in front.
Jenna Bisset played a forward ball to
Nikki Ross, whose vertical run got her in behind the defense to square a pass for Torres to find the back of the net for the second time.
"Priya has been working hard all season and this is the best she's looked," Kiely said. "I couldn't be happier for her in this moment. The goal she and Nikki scored was a beauty."
Goalkeeper
Cameron Simmons, making her second PLNU start, made five saves as the Sea Lions held the Golden Eagles to their fewest goals scored in a game this season.
"I thought our back line was sharp and competed at a very high level," Kiely said. "Cam came up with some big saves."
Point Loma (3-2-3 overall), who played four ranked opponents in the non-conference and went 1-1-2 in those games, now enters PacWest play on a two-game winning streak.
PLNU returns home on Thursday to host Chaminade at 12:30 p.m. in the conference opener for both teams.
