Priya Torres was named PacWest Player of the Week, while PLNU Women's Soccer earned the conference's Team of the Week honors after a pair of wins to close out the non-conference portion of its schedule.
Torres scored twice in Point Loma's win at No. 14 Concordia on Saturday night, tallying both goals in a 2-1 road win in Irvine.
Her first goal came in just the fifth minute, after
Madison Khan's shot was saved straight to Torres to give the Sea Lions an early lead.
After CUI equalized in the 63rd minute, Torres restored PLNU's advantage just three minutes later when she scored the ultimate game-winner, finding the back of the net following a service from
Nikki Ross.
Torres is tied for the team lead this season in goals (3) and points (7).
On Thursday, Point Loma ended Biola's four-match unbeaten streak with an emphatic 4-0 win, scoring a pair of goals in each half.
The Sea Lions followed that up by beating the Golden Eagles of Concordia on the road, handing CUI its first loss of the season.
Point Loma (3-2-3 overall) plays Chaminade at home on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the PacWest opener for both teams, before also hosting Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
