Annika Yturralde and PLNU Women's Golf earned PacWest weekly awards after a stellar showing at the Westminster Wasatch Invitational.
Yturralde placed first atop the individual leaderboard, while Point Loma won the team title at Glenmoor G.C. in South Jordan, Utah.
Yturralde shot consecutive rounds under-par for the Sea Lions, carding a two-under 70 in the first round before following that up with a one-under 71 in the second round.
She finished the opening round in a three-way tie for first place with teammates
Summer Schafer and
Estibaly Garcia, with whom she was still tied through 13 holes of round two.
Garcia and Yturralde were then tied through 16, before Yturralde's birdie on the par-four 17th hole gave her the solo lead for good.
In the tournament, Yturralde was four-under on par-four holes, five shots better than any other player. Her seven birdies were tied for the third most, as were her 26 pars.
PLNU tied a single-round program record with a first round score of 284 before shooting 293 in the second round to win the tournament by 14 shots over second place. The Sea Lions' two-round score of 577 is its second best in program history.
Point Loma, back-to-back winners of the PacWest Team of the Week award, is set to compete next at the Westmont Invitational, Oct. 12-13.
