Biography
AS A SOPHOMORE (2011-12):
NAIA scholar-athlete…GSAC scholar-athlete…Named first team All-GSAC…Helped the Sea Lions reach No. 6 in the NAIA national rankings…Played No. 1 throughout the season for the Sea Lions…Went 7-14 in singles and 6-12 at No. 1 singles…Went 4-7 against GSAC opponents…Reached the round of 16 at the Ojai Valley Tournament…Went 11-11 in doubles.
AS A FRESHMAN (2010-11):
Singles mark of 18-7 in first year at PLNU, playing mainly on court 5… was 10-4 against GSAC opposition including wins versus players from ranked teams Azusa Pacific, Concordia, Vanguard, Westmont and Fresno Pacific… went 6-2 in doubles, notching wins against pairings from HIU, Westmont, and Biola… also won against No. 13-ranked Claremont.
PRIOR TO PLNU:
Performed for one year, earning a varsity letter, as the number one singles player under head coach Lorene Dabney... awarded Most Valuable Player for the Conquistadors… also played basketball as a prep, earning Best Offensive Player award...was the Calculus Club president.
PERSONAL:
Born in Okinawa, Japan to Taeko and John... has a brother, Johnny... notes two wins at Roxy Championship in Palm Springs as a career highlight... enjoys reading in spare time... calls PLNU her dream school, and came also for the amazing tennis team... Biology major who aspires to make an impact in the Biotechnology Industry.
