As a Junior (2010)
Had a record-setting season for the Sea Lions, helping lead the team to a third-place finish at the NAIA World Series... set new school marks with 92 hits, 63 RBI and 28 doubles... for the year hit .359 with 11 homers, seven steals and 59 runs scored... played shortstop and second base... four RBI game against Fresno Pacific on Mar. 27... three four-hit games, two against FPU and one versus Cal Baptist at the World Series... got better as the season went on as PLNU made a deep postseason run... hit in 14 consecutive games to end the year... for the second consecutive time was named to the NAIA All-Tournament team after he went 10-for-23 at the World Series.
As a Sophomore (2009)
Slow start but still had a solid year… hit .277 (56-for-206) with 33 runs scored, 14 doubles, seven homeruns, 37 RBI and two stolen bases… team high five sac flies… walked nine times… shortstop made 76 putouts with 171 assists and 14 errors… fielding percentage was .946… four RBI game on Mar. 28 at Biola… was terrific down the stretch… had the game-winning hit that snapped a 12 inning deadlock against Fresno Pacific in the GSAC playoffs on May 6… two homeruns in a NAIA Opening Round game on May 14 versus Azusa Pacific… hit two round-trippers at the NAIA World Series, on May 25 vs. Oklahoma City and on May 27 against Lee… GSAC Gold Glove honoree.
As a Freshman (2008)
Started 43 games and appeared in five others… hit .297 (47-for-158) scoring 27 runs with 11 doubles, two triples and two homers… knocked in 25 runs… swiped nine bases and drew 11 walks… made 47 putouts with 60 assists and 11 errors playing in the field… went 3-for-3 with a run scored on Mar. 8 against Cal Baptist… was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored on 4/3 against Concordia… smacked a three-run shot Apr. 29 at Cal State L.A.
Prior to PLNU
Spent four years on varsity as a Bronco in his shortstop position playing for Coach Sam Blalock… batted .410, totaled 11 home runs and 19 stolen bases… was 2007 Palomar Player of the Year and also first team All-North County… hit two homers and six RBI in best game... once hit a shot to the fence in a CIF championship game.
Personal
Born August 3, 1988… son of Candace and Harry… older sister is Sarah… came to PLNU for baseball, the atmosphere and sunsets… favorite book is “Into the Wild”, favorite movies are Dumb & Dumber and Drop Dead Fred, favorite TV show is “Saved by the Bell - The College Years”… enjoys surfing, snowboarding, sushi and music… plays both guitar and drums, and even a little harmonica… came to PLNU for the sunsets, the baseball and the university atmosphere... Tyler is an exercise science major.
