As a Junior (2010)
Started 17 games with 34 total appearances... hit .386 (27-for-70) with 5 doubles, 16 RBI and 5 runs scored... played very well in the postseason, collecting two mulit-hit games including a 2-for-5 effort versus Houston-Victoria and was 3-for-4 against Lewis-Clark State at the NAIA World Series... drove in 5 runs in the playoffs.
Started As a Sophomore (2009)
Almost perfect as a pinch-hitter, going 5-for-7… all singles… scored a run and drove in one… struck out just once in seven appearances… had a pinch-hit and a RBI on May 12 in a NAIA Opening Round game against Azusa Pacific.
As a Freshman (2007)
Appeared in seven games as a reserve catcher… hit .429 (3-for-7) while walking twice… had three runs batted in… and made 21 putouts with two assists behind the plate… did not commit an error… picked up first collegiate hit on Jan. 26 against Oregon Tech.
Prior to PLNU
Attended San Clemente high school and played both catcher and infield positions for Coach Dave Gellatly… two years on varsity… as a senior, drove in 13 runs and batted .425… was featured on the front page of the OC Register in a collision at the plate vs Mater Dei HS.

Born January 29, 1988 in Mission Hills, Calif… parents are Sheryl and Doug… younger sisters are Lindsey and Brooke… his dad was a NAIA national runner-up for Azusa Pacific tennis, his grandpa, Gabriel Martinez, played for the Yankees and his uncle Chad Martinez pitched for PLNC his freshman year… enjoys listening to Jackson Browne… plays guitar, bass guitar, piano and drums… favorite movies are Fight Club and Field of Dreams… Alec is studying both marketing and psychology, and plans to become a professional chef.
