Jackie Armstrong

Jackie Armstrong begins her 10th year with the Point Loma Athletic Department in 2020-21. She was promoted to the role of Associate Athletic Director for Compliance as well as the Senior Woman Administrator prior to the 2015-16 academic year after serving in the role of Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance during the previous three years. She then moved into the role of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance/SWA during the 2019-20 academic year.
 
Armstrong was PLNU first-ever Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, a position required of NCAA membership. She joined the Sea Lions' staff just prior to Point Loma beginning its three-year transition from NAIA to the NCAA and helped PLNU complete the process in the three-year minimum.
 
She oversees coaches and student-athletes in the areas of rules, recruiting, and internal matters, specifically regarding the guidelines of the NCAA, the Pacific West Conference, and PLNU. She has been instrumental in helping write numerous policies and procedures as a part of Point Loma’s transition to NCAA Division II. She also serves has instituted bi-monthly compliance meetings to continually update and educate the PLNU Athletic Staff.
 
Armstrong brings an extensive background in collegiate athletics to her position. She was employed at crosstown San Diego Christian College for 12 years as an assistant volleyball and soccer coach, Sports Information Director, and Associate Athletic Director. Armstrong also worked in residential life at SDCC. In 2010, she was honored as SDCC’s Alumnus of the Year.
 
In 2007, Armstrong came to PLNU to work as a Housing Coordinator and Resident Director, where she worked for four years.
 
Armstrong, a San Diego native, graduated from Granite Hills High School. She was a four-year volleyball standout at Christian Heritage College (now San Diego Christian) where she earned her undergraduate degree in Physical Education. She earned her master’s degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University.
