Madi Bucci was elevated to Interim Associate Head Coach for Cross Country ahead of the 2026 season.
She previously spent four years as an assistant coach for PLNU Women's Cross Country and Track & Field, serving on the coaching staff of her alma mater since 2022.
PLNU Women's Cross Country has improved its finish at the PacWest Championships from the previous season in every year with Bucci on staff, leading to a runner-up finish in 2025. PLNU Women's Track & Field also posted its best finish at the conference meet since 2019 and since the conference expanded.
Bucci helped coach Maddie Reeves, who represented PLNU at the NCAA Championships in both cross country and track & field, becoming the first NCAA Division II All-American in PLNU Women's Track & Field history.
Bucci ran cross country and track for the Sea Lions from 2017-22, competing in a total of six PacWest Championships. Notably, she earned Third Team All-PacWest honors in cross country in 2019 with a 15th place finish at the conference meet. She also placed 8th in the 10K at the 2021 PacWest Track & Field Championships, followed by a 5th place finish in 2022.
Madi, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, also serves on campus as Operations Manager of the PLNU School of Humanities, Arts, and Public Engagement.
