Ginty joins the Point Loma staff as a first-year assistant coach in 2014-15. He assists with skill development in the guards, overseeing academics and helps with recruiting, with a focus on Northern California.

Ginty comes to PLNU after playing overseas the past three years. After stops in Taiwan, Ireland, Finland and China, Ginty landed in London last season. He played for the Durham Wildcats in the British Basketball League and earned the team MVP award.

Ginty played his college ball at the University of San Diego, where he played for Bill Carr, who was an assistant coach. He started his career as a walk-on before earning a scholarship as a sophomore. Even as a walk-on Ginty saw game minutes as a freshman. He scored 18 points at Rupp Arena in an 81-72 win over Kentucky. He was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, and made all four of his 3-pointers. Ginty and USD went to the NCAA Tournament his freshman season and upset UCONN in the first round. He was also a four-time West Coast Conference All-Academic Team selection. He graduated from USD in 2011 with a degree in history. He was nominated as the USD Athlete of the Year.

Ginty was a standout performer for Colfax High School. He was a three-year starter in baseball, soccer and basketball. Ginty helped lead CHS to a pair of CIF Section Championships as his team posted a 29-2 record as a junior, and a 30-2 mark as a senior. He was named to the all-league team twice, and as a senior he was named the MVP of the Pioneer Valley League.

Ginty earned his undergraduate degree from USD in History in 2011. He earned his master's degree with honors in International Business Management from Durham University.
