Wyatt Carlson enters his first season as a PLNU Men's Basketball Assistant Coach in 2024-25.

Carlson has spent the past three seasons as a student assistant for the Sea Lions, helping Point Loma win three-straight PacWest Conference regular season titles.

“Wyatt has made himself invaluable in this program,” Head Coach Justin Downer said. “He has matured every year and has become a staple in our day-to-day operations. His consistency, work ethic and character have made us a better program. We are blessed to have Wyatt back with us for another year in a coaching role.”

During Carlson’s three seasons as a student assistant following his playing career at El Dorado High School, the Sea Lions have accumulated a 71-23 (.755) overall record and a 51-9 (.850) mark in PacWest play.

“It’s been an amazing privilege to be a part of this program and university these last few years,” Carlson said. “I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to take on a new role with the team and can’t wait for what lies ahead.”
