Prior to PLNU
Prepped at Westlake High School for three years under Coach John Campbell. In 2011, the Chaparrals were ranked No. 24 in the nation and No. 5 in Texas, winning the district and regional championships and reaching the state quarterfinals. Benavides scored three goals and had four assists for that squad and scored the game-winner in a match against a top El Paso team.  Benavides was an academic all-state honoree and graduated with the Distinguished Service Award.

Born November 11, 1993 in Torrance, Calif... parents are Derek and Leticia, siblings are Daniel, Uriel and Andrew... favorite soccer team and player are FC Basel and Giovani Dos Santos. An uundeclared major... he chose PLNU because of the great atmosphere, the location, for the religious experience and for the academics.
