Alisa Ward is back for her 10th season as an assistant coach with the Point Loma Women's Track & Field team in 2018. Ward works primarily with the relay teams and sprinters on the track and coordinates recruiting contact with prospective student-athletes.

In 2014, Ward helped lead a pair of heptathletes to titles as Emily Loogman won the PacWest Championship and Lindsay Honea won the NCCAA Championship.
Prior to joining the PLNU coaching staff, Coach Ward was a NAIA All-American for the Sea Lions in 2004 & 2005 on the 4x800 relay teams. Both relay teams set school records and are presently the third- and fourth-fastest times in school history. She currently has the third fastest 800 meters in school history. Coach Ward was a model student-athlete during her time at Point Loma Nazarene University (2003-05).
In 2005, Alisa received her undergraduate degree from the department of kinesiology in physical education: teaching and coaching at Point Loma Nazarene University. She went on to earn her master's in kinesiology from California State University, Fresno. Her main focus was sports administration and sports psychology.
After graduating, Alisa taught at an international school in Kampala, Uganda, for one school year while coaching soccer. Upon returning, she taught PE in Visalia, CA while coaching volleyball, soccer, and softball. In addition to her track duties, Ward is also a professor in the Kinesiology Department, teaching various health and fitness courses and the Director of PLNU Intramurals.Â
Ward is a native of Visalia, Calif. where she attended Mount Whitney High School. Ward is married to Brandon and the couple has a daughter, Brisa, and son.Â
