Brinson is in his fourth season as an assistant coach with the Point Loma women's track & field team. He works primarily with the distance runners.
Brinson has had the honor of coaching some of the finest distance runners to ever put on a Green & Gold uniform. He helped guide Zita Molnar to the title of PacWest Track Athlete of the Meet at the 2019 PacWest Championships, as Molnar won both the 5k and 3k steeplechase to collect 20 team points. During the season Molnar also moved into the top spot in the school records in the steeplechase with a time of 10:29.05.
She was not the only Sea lion to achieve success under Brinson's coaching as Hannah Benoit Bucher moved to the top of the 1500m list and Cassidy Towner took over the top spot in the 5k.
