Fernandez enters her first season as PLNU Women's Basketball Assistant Coach in 2024-25.
She comes to The Point after serving as an Assistant Coach at The Master's University for the past two seasons, including in 2023-24 when the Mustangs won the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament championship and reached the NAIA National Tournament.
"I'm so happy to announce the hiring of Ailyn as an assistant coach for women's basketball," Elliott said. "From early on in the process, I kept hearing about her from various coaches and everyone spoke so highly of her character, integrity and work ethic. As I got to know Ailyn I could tell right away that she would be a great fit for our staff and players."

Fernandez began her coaching career as a student manager at Vanguard under legendary Head Coach Russ Davis before finishing her undergraduate degree at The Master's. At TMU, she started out as a graduate assistant before being elevated a full-time assistant coach.
