Grace Ricafranca

Grace Ricafranca was promoted to Associate Head Coach for PLNU Women's Basketball ahead of the 2024-25 season, leading Point Loma to itsĀ first ever PacWest regular season and tournament championships.

In her four seasons on The Point, she has helpedĀ the Sea Lions increase their win total each year from the previous season and reach at least the PacWest Tournament semifinals every year.
Ā
In 2023-24, Point Loma played in the NCAA West Regional for the first time since 2016-17 before making back-to-back regional appearances for the first time in program history in 2024-25.

She also serves as recruiting coordinator, focusing her efforts on guard skill development, scoutingĀ and recruiting.

"I'm so excited to announce the promotion of Grace to the Associate Head Coach position," Head Coach Charity Elliott said. "In her three years here at PLNU, her imprint is all over this program. She has worked tirelessly to help us build this program to where we are today and I'm so grateful that she's been by my side for this amazing ride."

In April 2024, she was one of 32 college assistant coaches selected to participate in the WBCA Next Generation Institute.

During the summer of 2022, Ricafranca served as assistant coach of the Philippines U16 National Team as it competed at the Asia Cup Championship in Amman, Jordan. The team finished with a bronze medal in their division.

"She has been instrumental in the growth of our program and her ability to connect and teach players is exceptional," Elliott said of Ricafranca. "Most importantly, her desire to make a positive and lifelong impact on each individual player makes her one of a kind and makes her very well deserving of this promotion."

Prior to her time at Point Loma, Ricafranca served as an assistant coach for Pepperdine University for two seasons where she was in charge of player development and scheduling, whileĀ assistingĀ in opponent scouting and recruiting.Ā

Ricafranca spent five years in the lead assistant position at Biola University, where she helped lead the Eagles to three postseason appearances, including the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in six years. In her time at Biola, she was responsible for guard position development, scouting and film sessions, summer camps and team operations.Ā

Grace graduated from Biola University with a degree in business management in 2013 and earned her master's in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University-Irvine in 2016. She began her coaching career at Los Altos High School, and later served as head coach at Whittier Christian High School, helping lead the team to the CIF second round both years she coached there.
