Matt Armstrong is in his second season as an assistant with the Point Loma women's basketball program. His duties with the team include player development, travel coordination, opponent scouting, video exchange and many more.
 
Prior to joining the Point Loma coaching staff, Armstrong was the lead assistant for a season with the women's basketball team at Trevecca Nazarene, working under coach Gary Van Atta. Previously, Armstrong was a student assistant with Lakeland University's women's basketball program during all four years of undergrad. During these stops, Armstrong contributed to scouting reports, scheduling, player development, academic oversight, scouting and game preparation.
 
Armstrong was born and raised in Santa Cruz, Calif. He earned his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sport Studies from Lakeland University. He is in the process of finishing his master's degree in the Science of Management at Trevecca Nazarene University.
