Monica Robinson is back for her second season as the assistant coach with the Point Loma women's tennis team.
 
In her first season with the team, Robinson helped guide the Sea Lions to a 6-4 record in the COVID-shortened season.
 
Prior to joining the Sea Lions, Robinson coached one year at Texas Tech and was a four-year letterwinner at Notre Dame. She was a multiple-time All-ACC selection and earned the 2017 ITA Midwest Region Most Improved Player Award. She won in 134 combined singles and doubles matches in her four years at Notre Dame, including a 73-48 record in singles. She has ranked as high as No. 10 nationally in doubles, qualifying for the 2015 NCAA Doubles Championship. She went on to play on the professional tour, reaching No. 608 in the rankings.

While at Notre Dame, Robinson also captured the prestigious ITA/Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship and Leadership Award which is given annually to men’s and women’s players across all divisions who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.
