PLNU Athletics

Alyssa Pitkin begins her third season with the Point Loma volleyball team in 2017, but her first as a full-time assistant coach. Her duties include practice responsibilities, opponent scouting, recruiting, and many other administrative roles.
 
This is her first coaching stop after playing two seasons at the University of Kentucky. While with the Wildcats, Pitkin was a two-time All-SEC Academic selection. She played setter on a team that finished third in the SEC each season and made the NCAA Tournament both years.
 
She began her career at The Master's College where she was a starter for two seasons. She helped lead the Mustangs to their best-ever record in 2012 as the starting setter. She averaged 7.98 assists and 1.4 aces per set.
 
Pitkin originally attended Murrieta Valley High School. She was a first team all-league selection and team captain.
 
Pitkin graduated from UK with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Managerial & Organizational Communication at PLNU.
 
She was married in the summer of 2018 to PLNU alum, Chip Pitkin.
